Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Director of FP&A will provide critical analytical leadership and support to advance key business objectives, aiding the company to achieve operational and strategic goals. As a valued partner to the HC+M Executive Leadership team and all HC+M operating company finance teams, this individual will demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a data-driven mindset to uncover opportunities for improvement using financial, market, customer, operations, and industry insights. Acting as a change agent, the Senior Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing forward-thinking capabilities and strengthening overall financial acumen across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience working within matrixed organizations and across diverse functions, including sales, operations, supply chain, marketing, IT, and accounting. Success in this highly visible role requires comfort with ambiguity, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to build trusted partnerships with senior leadership. This is a hands-on leadership position, requiring someone who can set direction, lead complex projects, communicate effectively to leadership and the Board, and execute with impact.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure Health & Safety is the number one priority by adhering to all policies and procedures and promoting a culture of safety
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the HC+M FP&A team while fostering collaboration with Finance and Accounting teams across all HC+M operating companies
  • Facilitate the annual strategic planning process, including long-term financial forecasting and annual budgeting, and manage iterative, scenario-based forecasting models to anticipate future performance
  • Drive the development and adoption of financial planning and reporting tools such as Oracle EPM, Power BI, MS Excel and partner with FP&A and Accounting to streamline financial data management and reporting processes
  • Deliver insights into margin optimization by collaborating with Commercial and Operations leadership to enhance visibility into gross margin performance across the value chain by segment, customer, product, site, and geography
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define and report key performance indicators (KPIs), integrating them into dashboards and business reviews to connect operational metrics with financial outcomes
  • Own the process for HC+M Growth Capital project underwriting, ensuring robust assumptions and analysis is completed and lead performance tracking during and post implementation
  • Serve as the Finance lead for Business Excellence/LEAN Six Sigma, tracking and reporting the financial impact of continuous improvement projects
  • Partner with functional and location leaders to analyze variances between actual and forecasted performance and identify and drive corrective actions to improve results
  • Develop executive level financial presentations, including monthly reviews, dashboards, and direct ownership of all HC+M financial related Board materials
  • Play a critical part in M&A related activities including proactive and ad-hoc financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and integration support
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 10+ years of FP&A experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Minimum 3+ years of management experience
  • Strong accounting knowledge; CPA/CMA preferred


Skills and Abilities

  • Proven leadership in matrixed organizations across multiple functions
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the organization
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a critical requirement; experience with Oracle EPM, MS Power BI, and ERP systems is highly desirable
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect operational data to financial outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in project management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, problem-solving culture
