Job Description

The Oklahoma Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), is seeking candidates for a part-time grants manager position. The person will work under the supervision of the Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer. As further detailed in the recruitment notice below, primary duties relate to the Oklahoma Historical Society’s Civil Rights Trails Grant program. This is a term limited position.

Temporary Position: 19 hours per week

Location: State Historic Preservation Office, Oklahoma Historical Society, Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive, Oklahoma City, OK

Key Duties:

  • Manages the Civil Rights Trails Grant based on rules and statute approved by the State Legislature

  • Develop grant application

  • Create and convene (as necessary) Oklahoma Historical Society Board subcommittee and application review committee

  • Prepare and distribute contracts for grants

  • Process requests for reimbursement, progress reports, and final project reports

  • Prepare and maintain the budget for the grant program

  • Process and prepare requests for reimbursement for payment by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services

  • Complete end-of-year report

Education and Experience

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or closely related specialty and one year of experience in project management or grant/contract management.
