As a Senior Director of Life Safety, Facilities, and Capital Projects is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and continuous improvement of all facilities management, life safety, and capital project initiatives. This position ensures the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and infrastructure management across all Blue Skies locations, contributing to the safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality of the community. The Senior Director is accountable for ensuring compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulations, as well as maintaining effective emergency preparedness plans, life safety systems, and infrastructure upgrades. This role also includes oversight of all capital improvement projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
What you will do in this role:
- Oversee maintenance and life safety systems to ensure operational compliance and safety standards are met.
- Provides oversight of capital projects in development of projects/related budgets, ensures timelines/budget/scope are adhered to.
- Develop and implement life safety protocols, emergency response plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Chief Operations Officer and senior leaders to develop/implement strategies for infrastructure improvements.
- Manage inspections/audits for healthcare/independent living facilities ensuring safety/environmental/operational standards are met.
- Provide oversight and management of external contractors and vendors related to renovation, facilities and life safety projects.
- Develop and manage annual budgets for maintenance, life safety, and capital projects.
- Oversee the preparation of reports, documentation, and audits related to life safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure effective training programs for staff regarding life safety, emergency preparedness, and operational procedures.
- Respond to emergencies and lead crisis management efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and employees.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
