Woolpert is hiring a GeoBase Power Platform Developer to join our dynamic Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase Operations team based in San Antonio, Texas. This is an on-site role with a schedule of 4 days working at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on Lackland Air Force Base and 1 day working remotely. This position reports to the GeoBase Operations Team Leader and is responsible for developing and maintaining applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint for the rapidly growing DAF GeoBase program. Roles of the GeoBase Power Platform Developer include designing, testing, deploying, and customizing Power BI dashboards and SharePoint applications in an enterprise environment. Developers will work on a team implementing enterprise capabilities, coordinating with program analysts and stakeholders to support capabilities, requirements, process integration, and user training in support of GeoBase program objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a GeoBase Power Platform Developer at Woolpert, you will: 

• Develop and maintain applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scopes
• Analyze charts, dashboards, and Agile burndowns to extract meaningful insights
• Operate within an Agile framework using Jira/Confluence, managing epics to enable client task visibility and project transparency
• Design user-friendly interfaces and ensure application performance and quality
• Integrate data across applications and conduct code, automation, and dashboard reviews with teammates
• Provide mentorship to junior developers
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing applications for improved efficiency
• Manage access rights and controls, providing user support as needed
• Administer integrations with other systems and manage on-premises data gateways
• Develop and customize SharePoint applications, workflows, and web parts to enhance user experience and functionality
• Integrate multiple data sources for Power BI reports, including on-premises and cloud data, using Power Query and on-premises data gateways
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and generate visually appealing and insightful reports.

 

Power BI Responsibilities

• Create custom visualizations and implement row-level security on data
• Build data models and develop dashboards using Power BI Desktop
• Develop tabular and multidimensional models compatible with warehouse standards
• Use advanced level calculations on data sets using DAX functions in Power BI
• Test formulas and visualizations to ensure their functionality
• Document all implemented processes and methodologies
• Incorporate geospatial capabilities using ArcGIS Maps for Power BI to visualize and analyze location-based data

 

SharePoint Responsibilities

• Develop and customize SharePoint applications using SharePoint Framework, including client-side web parts and extensions
• Create and manage SharePoint workflows using Power Automate and SharePoint Designer
• Utilize REST APIs to integrate SharePoint with other systems
• Design and implement SharePoint site collections, libraries, lists, and content types
• Implement SharePoint solutions for document management, collaboration, and business process automation
• Ensure SharePoint applications are secure, scalable, and maintainable
• Provide user training and support for SharePoint applications
• Integrate geolocation features in SharePoint lists using the Geolocation field and Map View

 

Minimum Requirements 

• U.S. citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or degree with an analytical or statistical background
• Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), or security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening
• Two (2) to three (3) years of experience developing applications using Power Platform tools
• Proficiency with Power BI Service Administration and experience designing Business Intelligence dashboards
• Ability to interpret relationships in data across multiple sources
