We are looking for:The Sr. Broadcast Engineer acts as a link between the company and clients to ensure all of their needs are being met and that they’re satisfied with the work the company’s providing to them. The Sr. Broadcast Engineer works within an operational pod to provide support to the team. Reports directly to the Sr. Director of Managed Services and collaborates with the Resource Manager, the Finance Manager and the rest of the business pod team. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with production and technical teams to conceptualize and design broadcast systems tailored to the unique requirements of each live event.
  • Provide support to the Engineer In Charge of the Bayview Event Center, acting in that capacity when necessary.
  • Assist with the integration of audio, video, and broadcast control systems.
  • Set up, create, and operate broadcast equipment during events.
  • Troubleshoot and craft unique solutions to  technical issues in real-time to ensure uninterrupted broadcast quality.
  • Create and conduct quality control processes to ensure the highest standard of audiovisual production for live broadcasts.
  • Monitor, analyze, and deduce problems with RF, video, audio, cameras, digital switchers, routers, digital video servers, character generators, automation, post-production, and non-linear editing systems.
  • Author, update, and interpret accurate engineering documentation.
  • Oversee, analyze, and solve issues regarding video, cameras, digital switchers, routers, digital video servers, character generators, automation, and digital routing.
  • Invent and perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all technical equipment in the event space.
  • Imagine and design wired and wireless communication systems.
  • Produce transcoding of digital files, and oversee post-production editing and file delivery.
  • Interpret and troubleshoot network connectivity, power distribution, cable creation, and termination.
  • Originate content capture, backup, archival, and delivery processes.
  • Work events spanning multiple days and weeks.
  • Manage effectively in a broadcast team environment, collaborating with talent, producers, and directors under stringent time constraints.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new tools and technologies relevant to broadcast engineering.
  • Work collaboratively with talent, producers, and directors in a fast-paced team environment, adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactively solve problems with a hands-on, adaptable mindset.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills to handle multiple simultaneous projects and requests.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism, maintaining composure under pressure while providing assistance as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all business matters.
  • Excel in time management to meet project deadlines efficiently.

 

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 10+ years of comprehensive experience in broadcast engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of broadcast systems, audio/video signal flow, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in broadcast control systems and relevant software applications.
  • Basic computer networking skills and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with audio/video standards and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Experience with HD/3G-SDI with embedded audio, AES/EBU, Dante, AES67, timecode, and various sync types.
  • Experience working in large conference style events is a plus.
