About the role
UES is looking for a Geotechnical Field Technician to join our Fort Worth team. This position is responsible for the front end of field geotechnical solar projects. Tasks vary according to job assignments and include clearing utilities for drilling and excavation, staking borings for drill rig access, logging borings and test pits using USCS soil classification system, and pile load testing. Summary reporting of site conditions will be required for each site visit. This job is performed in the field at project sites, and requires long, physically demanding hours in all-weather conditions. This position is required to travel up to 50% of the time, within Texas and neighboring states. In addition, this position will assist with soils laboratory testing and project coordination when not busy with field work and/or as needed.Company Truck * Safe Driving Bonuses * Paid Training

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aids in obtaining and recording of geotechnical samples
- Creates reports as needed
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- Follow all protocols and procedures to guarantee safety on the job site
- Adherence to all safety rules, requirements, and practices
- Ability to carry/ lift/ push 50 - 70 lbs. multiple times a day
- Driving to and from job sites (company vehicle provided)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of construction or preconstruction experience
- A valid Texas driver license and acceptable driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates degree or higher preferred although high school or GED with equivalent experience will be considered
- Effective communications skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to use company-provided laptop and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ethical mindset and integrity a must
- Knowledge of Excel
- Follow all protocols and procedures to guarantee safety on the job site
