The Business Platform Manager will lead the evolution of the Business Platform Management discipline which includes staffing, working with business partners, vendor management, and forming the direction of the group and the business technologies.
The Business Platform Manager is responsible for enterprise critical technology including Microsoft 365 Suite, Dynamics, Accounting platforms, Business Process Management platforms such as Pega, and others. These platforms come with them up to several million dollars in technology spend.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Management (40%):
- Researches and analyzes industry trends and benchmarking information as they apply to platform(s)
- Own and manage relationships with the platform vendors
- Own and manage budgets for enterprise technology
- Identify and develop a road map for new use cases, business rules, and efficiencies
- Responsible to understand potential ROI and create plans to meet those objectives
- Create data driven approaches to platform management and decision making
- Develop an intimate knowledge of the users and technology to leverage in consultation and recommendations
- Create data driven approaches to platform management and decision making
- Facilitate Sys Admin requirements with the vendor
Manages Business Platform Owners (40%):
- Responsible for training team members, setting strategy and monitoring progress toward goals.
- Responsible for hiring staff, recommending staffing levels, creating job descriptions, and managing performance
- Oversee and manage the platform teams support of maintenance request and tickets within each platform.
- Weighs risks, issues, and impediments being experienced by Platform team(s) and actively assists with issue resolution
- Lead vendor and support team with the ownership and mindset of a Product Manager
- Facilitate Sys Admin requirements with the vendor
Enablement, Communication, and Facilitating Business Technologists (20%):
- Create the strategies surrounding the enablement service offering and ensure staff is trained and actively fulfilling this role
- Create communication plans that are consistent and leverage other official communication channels
- Establish champion and Business Technologist user groups and ensure resources and training are available to these roles.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required
- 5-7 years of directly related work experience required
- 2 years of people leader experience required
