What you will be doing:

• Database Management: Design, implement, and manage robust database systems to ensure data accuracy, security, and availability in cloud-based, stand-alone installations and managed databases.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance in the cloud for seamless operations.
• Security and Compliance: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance in the cloud for seamless operations.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute reliable backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data in cloud-hosted and stand-alone databases.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database issues promptly, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations in cloud and stand-alone environments.
• Database Upgrades: Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity in cloud and stand-alone installations.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures for cloud-based and stand-alone setups.
• Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to assess scope, develop business cases for data change, and deliver benefits by leveraging industry insights.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role as a Database Architect or Big Data Engineer with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB expertise.
• Cloud Expertise: Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, etc.), preferably DigitalOcean.
• Scalable Infrastructure: Experience with scalable and distributed database infrastructure in the cloud.
• Security & Compliance: Experience in database security and compliance standards, especially in cloud deployments.
• Performance Tuning: Proven ability to optimize database performance.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving technologies.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Independent & Team Player: Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Familiarity with DevOps concepts and tools like Terraform and Ansible is a plus.
