Senior Accountant

Position Overview

With the training and resources we provide, the Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining Arnold Machinery’s strong financial standing and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily banking and cash-management responsibilities

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts on a daily and monthly basis

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and other financial reports

  • Record journal entries for various general ledger accounts

  • Perform general accounting duties as assigned

  • Support the CFO and Controller with day-to-day tasks

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures

  • Assist with optimizing and implementing new ERP systems for inventory management, reporting, billing, and related processes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or 3+ years of accounting experience with reconciliations and financial reporting

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • High energy with a positive, friendly, can-do attitude

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong initiative

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively at all organizational levels

  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and multitask

  • Good judgment and discretion, with the ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to influence decisions and negotiate outcomes

Non-Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain a clean workspace

  • Perform data entry and various office duties

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit for extended periods

  • Ability to reach to answer phones

  • Ability to read paperwork, files, and computer records

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone

  • Ability to walk or move about on foot

  • Ability to hear sufficiently for phone or in-person communication

  • Ability to bend at the knees and waist

  • Ability to stand as needed to perform job functions
