Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Bilingual Neuropsychologist (MDC) - Boca Raton, FL.

This position is funded with grant funds from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Select and prepare assessment batteries, administer selected measures, scoring measures, and writing integrated neurocognitive reports.

• Assists in the diagnosis and clarifies the nature of the patient's cognitive strengths and weaknesses.

• Conducts the assessment of patients referred secondary to cognitive complaints, particularly memory decline.

• Carry out comprehensive assessments including cognitive and psychological functioning as well as an assessment of each patient’s current lifestyle. Provide a comprehensive report to share with the inter-disciplinary team including diagnostic impressions and relevant care and treatment recommendations for the patient, caregivers, and health care providers.

• Conduct comprehensive driving evaluations and make recommendations to the referring physicians/health care providers regarding the patient’s ability to drive safely and provide a brief impression of overall cognitive and psychological status, as indicated.

• Provide referrals for psychotherapeutic evaluation and treatment to individuals and groups as indicated.

• Work with practicum students providing training and supervision in order to develop and sharpen their diagnostic skills along with their clinical skills.

• Create and develop new programs of education within the MDC and in the community related to brain health and wellness and cognitive stimulation/rehabilitation for patients and family caregivers in collaboration with the MWC Director and other MWC neuropsychologists.

• Works collaborative with each MWC team member.

• Maintain a positive and objective customer service approach and attitude.

• Travel as needed between university campuses and evaluate patients in their homes or in the community as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. from an accredited institution in the field of Clinical Psychology required.

One year of a supervised internship experience in professional psychology/Neuropsychologist; or licensure as a psychologist by the State of Florida in accordance with Chapter 490, F.S. required.

At least one year of appropriate experience required.

Valid Florida Driver's license required.

Bilingual English and Spanish required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Previous work experience in a university setting, community clinic, healthcare environment or research.

Ability to diagnose and treat health problems.

Ability to demonstrate compassion/caring required.

Salary:

$60.00 per hour.
