Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Entry Level Environmental Engineer  to be based in Tampa, FL

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Engineer to join our Florida Water Team. This position can be based out of any of our Florida offices and will include the opportunity to work on projects located across the state. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the planning, design, and implementation of water, wastewater, and storm management projects under the guidance of senior engineers, designers, technical specialists, and project managers.
 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater treatment, water quality improvement, and stormwater management projects for a variety of clients across Florida.
  • Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Carry out engineering analyses, prepare reports and technical specifications, under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Work collaboratively within project teams to ensure project objectives are met within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collect and analyze data, perform field work, undertake site inspections under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Attend site visits and meetings in clients’ offices.
  • Maintain project records and files, contribute to the preparation of progress reports, communicate project and task updates to team members and supervisors as needed.
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.


 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree In Civil, Environmental, or Chemical engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in water and wastewater engineering, including design, construction, and/or operations, and/or an academic focus on water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other design software.
  • Familiarity with additional software tools, such as Power BI, hydraulic modelling programs, structural design packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in water/wastewater infrastructure design and a willingness to travel and work in the field as needed.
