About the role

Job Description:

The Test Technician will be responsible for performing routine and varied tasks to ensure that production standards are met. Sets up, calibrates, tests and troubleshoots production assemblies. Projects may range from simple to complex. Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. Adjusts and calibrate systems as needed. Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams. Corrects malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components as directed. Use various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

  • Test electronic and acoustic units using standard and custom test equipment. Analyze results to evaluate performance and determine the need for adjustment.

  • Follows complex test specifications, test procedures and verbal instructions to perform a variety of routine standard tests.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings diagrams, hardware specifications, schematics, or written work instructions.

  • Working knowledge of electronic theory and components

  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze failures using electronic test equipment and software. Diagnoses minor deficiencies in equipment and recommends rework where necessary.

Compensation Range: $28.07-$33.70/hour

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Required Education, Experience, and 5 years' work experience or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in microelectronics and RF testing

  • Prior test experience

  • Prior DoD/AUV Testing Experience

  • Must work well with a team

  • Experience in using Excel

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience operating and integrating a variety of electronic test gear, including oscilloscopes, power meters, waveform generators, etc., in acoustic test applications

  • Familiarity with LabVIEW

  • Familiarity with testing messaging middleware

  • Familiarity with JIRA.

  • Familiarity with Autonomous & Undersea Systems

  • Capability to generate and review suggested improvements to integration and test process/work instructions.

  •  Preferred Secret Clearance

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
