Job Summary:

As a Lead Control System Technician I you will coordinate on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning of full life-cycle control-system packages on our Meta data-center portfolio. You’ll mentor technicians, interface with clients and vendors, and troubleshoot everything from PLCs and HMIs to instrumentation and networks. Proven performance in this role is the springboard to LCST II and Engineering leadership.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: A.A.S. in Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, IT—or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2–5+ years in control-system installation/start-up, including 2 yrs leading technicians.
  • Core Skills: PLC & HMI start-up/troubleshooting, low-voltage wiring, instrumentation, basic IT/networking.
  • Soft Skills: Clear communicator, strategic problem-solver, self-directed, customer-obsessed.
  • Certifications: ISA, AVEVA, Ignition (or willingness to earn).
  • Other: Valid driver’s license, work authorization in U.S., fit-for-duty at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning

• Assist and be self-sufficient in project installation, start-up, and commissioning.
• Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

Instrumentation & Wiring

• Perform instrument loop checks and calibrations.
• Wire instruments and control panels.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair control systems.
• Demonstrate and apply basic understanding of HMI & PLC applications.
• Start up and debug HMI and PLC programs.

Drawings & QA

• Read and interpret P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
• Practice procedures outlined in the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Accurately document all work performed.

Technical Knowledge Growth

• Demonstrate basic understanding of control-system, electrical, mechanical, and IT/network design.
• Seek accredited control-systems certifications and training opportunities.

Customer & Project Responsibilities:

Customer Service

• Provide excellent, patient, and attentive support; solve problems promptly.
• Follow up and honor commitments with every customer.

Project Interface

• Mirror the same high-standard behaviors with GCs, owner-reps, and vendors.
• Surface issues early, propose solutions, and coordinate change-orders.
• Maintain clear documentation and open communication lines with the project team.

Travel & On-Call:

  • Up to 20% Travel
  • Generous per diem, flights, rental car, lodging covered.
  • Occasional OT maybe required depending on project needs.
  • FT Onsite Role in Salt Lake, UT - Position will relocate following project completion (Early 2026)

Work Authorization/Other Requirements:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the country where the position is located is required.
  • Maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Fit for Duty at all times
