Dispatch Manager must be responsible for assisting quality and efficient customer service through daily monitoring of a team by providing guidance and technical support to MMT Ambulance communication center. An incumbent in this classification works with considerable independence and receives general guidance from a superior.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversight of Communication Center activities and associated policies and procedures.
- Responsible for managing the scheduling, training, retention, and performance of personnel of the Communication Center.
- Ensure compliance with customer service and dispatch quality assurance principles.
- Ensure that all Communication Center personnel is adequately trained and obtain/maintain all required credentials.
- Demonstrate the ability to work productively with all involved stakeholders of the organization to include the public, agencies, elected officials, and area hospitals.
- Attends assigned official public meetings to represent Communication Center.
Physical Demands:
- Must be ale to sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to hear well
- Must be able to speak, write, and understand English fluently
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working in a call center.
- Previous experience in prehospital setting required (ground ambulance, fire department, law enforcement, etc.)
- Previous progressive supervisory and administrative experience in the medical services or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-confidence, emotional stability, good judgment, and tolerance for high stress
- Possess good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle adverse situations effectively.
