Job Description Summary:

The Staff Accountant will support financial processes and touch on the full cycle accounting functions including check processing, journal entry posting, reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and assisting with month end close. This is a varied role in scope that deals with large data sets and requires tracking of daily, weekly, and monthly financial processes while understanding their impact on the financial statements. This entails producing reports to assist in analytics, performing root cause analysis, maintaining existing automated processes and supporting the US Controller with internal/external audits.

Job Description:

Payouts 

• Review eligible enrolled and unenrolled charity profiles between SAP and PayPal Cause Admin database (AU/CA/US) before payouts to confirm all charities with funds due are included in the enrolled and unenrolled payout  

• Assist Senior Accountants on “Reassignment of Funds” processes in Australia, Canada and US for uncashed checks/undeliverable funds. 

• Review “Holds” list to determine removal, payment, or reassignment of funds per PayPal Giving Fund’s payment and reassignment policies 

• Review and process assigned escalations and JIRA tickets 

• Manage check payments for Canada and Australia, ensuring compliance with key SLAs and coordinating approvals  

• Align with Operation Leads on address cleansing before check batch posting to ensure payments are accurately remitted  

• Void checks in SAP and place stop payments with the bank for newly enrolled charities, expired checks, or specific customer requests 

•  Liaise with customer service team to resolve check discrepancies and escalations 

Month end 

• Analyze aging reports with Controller to ensure compliance of internal policies
