Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan on a full-time basis.

The Role

A member of our Sustainable Workplaces Team, with a focus on facility electrical expertise, you will support the workplace and facility systems in a wide range of facilities that GM has around the US. You will work with an industry leading team that designs, builds/constructs, and maintains facilities and building assets for vast operating functions. Doing so in a safe, compliant, cost-efficient manner that utilizes advanced technology to support social & ecological sustainability. We create the future and not just plan for it!

  • Delivering High Quality Outcomes – Engineering high quality, sustainable systems and processes that sustain future business productivity in multiple types of business units. Ensures that the facility management team is positioned to succeed amid changing business trends. 

  •   Innovation Management - Bringing the creative ideas of others to market; has good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work; data review and lessons learned to understand future design needs; has a sense about managing the creative process of others; can facilitate effective brainstorming; can project how potential ideas may play out in the marketplace. 

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 

  • 3+ years of facility / mechanical systems experience. 

  • Experience managing mechanical projects 

  • Experience with analysis and operation understanding on multiple mechanical systems including but not limited to Chiller systems/ Boilers / HVAC units/ Compressors /. Pump systems across commercial, industrial and research facilities. 

  • Ability to lead and work with service providers.  

 

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge  

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field 

  • Understanding of GM’s OneSpec guidelines, facilities and processes. 

  • Licensed or certified in skilled trades, engineering or energy management fields.
