Cotton combines this diverse suite of services with top talent, innovative technology, and a large inventory of company-owned assets, to offer clients a total solutions package in support of disaster events and large development projects, including complex work environments.  

Summary

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Content Specialist is responsible for crafting content to support marketing initiatives and Cotton’s various subsidiaries. Candidates must be self-starters with expert linguistic and grammar skills. 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Generate engaging content for external promotional materials and internal communications
  •  Write content for traditional and digital mediums, including landing pages, blogs, emails, social media posts, scripts, marketing slicks, display ads, billboards, and more 
  •  Stay up to date with current culture and B2B Marketing trends
  •  Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative concepts for marketing campaigns and product lines
  •  Interview Subject Matter Experts, research topics, and write thought leadership pieces (blog posts, white papers, infographics, etc.) for mass distribution
  •  Plan, develop, and produce high-engagement social media content that reflects our brand’s voice and drives traffic to the website
  •  Use SEO best practices to generate traffic to Cotton’s various websites
  •  Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines
  •  Collaborate with Marketing team, external agencies, and Business Development to develop a variety of content marketing materials
  •  Proofread and revise content created by other members of the organization or external agencies
  •  Collaborate with the Marketing department to strengthen the suite of Cotton brands through strong content that builds understanding and drives results
  •  Ensures that content is tailored to target audience segments while staying consistent to brand standards and voice


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Experience
  • 3-5 years of copywriting experience
  • Experience in producing copy for digital, print, and broadcast channels
  • Familiar with writing and managing content for multiple clients 
  • Adeptness in copyediting and proofreading
  • Knowledge of AP style guidelines
  • Agency experience a plus
  • Knowledge of B2B sales and marketing
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Strong analytical, planning, and storytelling skills
  • Experience with script writing, research, and interviews
  • Reliable and dependable 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed 
  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities 

For Job Consideration
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing or equivalent preferred but not required. 
  • Proficient in Windows and Macintosh platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft programs, Google drive, Hootsuite, CMS platforms, and Drobox a plus.
