The Opportunity / Who We Seek

We are looking for an accomplished Instructional Designer (“ID”) to join our team as part of our financial services business in Dublin on a temporary 9 month contract

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of internal learning solutions for the Maples Group, in a variety of delivery formats, such as e-learning, classroom training, printable training materials and live instructor-led webinars.
  • Assist in designing L&D programmes within the Maples Group. The ID will work closely with the global L&D team on all matters relating to design and development of L&D initiatives.
  • Designing learning solutions – including identifying learning objectives, applying learning theories and design principles to develop instructional materials, learning content and assessments.
  • Developing learning solutions – including authoring of e-learning courses, instructor-led materials (slides, facilitator guides, learner guides) and infographics.
  • Assisting with design and development of learning programmes, based on training needs analysis.
  • Working with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs and design appropriate learning solution.
  • Developing content via e-learning authoring tools.
  • Using the Learning Management System to upload and monitor learning content.
  • Being effecting in planning and organising work, showing an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Acting in accordance with legal, regulatory and internal risk management requirements, including complying with policies and procedures.

 

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Third level degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or a related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an instructional design role or a learning and development role which involved aspects of learning design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills, ability to collaborate well with others.
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of the Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Visual design skills and knowledge of Articulate 360 suite and other e-learning authoring tools is preferable.
  • Knowledge of Instructional Design standard methodologies
  • Ability to partner with SMEs and distill their knowledge into teachable chunks.
  • Ability to communicate abstract or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to identify the best learning delivery formats for a specific set of learning goals.
  • Ability to work within pre-defined templates, where necessary.
  • Attention to design aesthetics and visual detail.
  • Ability to scope and handle the day-to-day work of projects independently.
