VP, AI Agents & Automation
dentsuAbout the role
Job Description:
Role Summary
Reports to: EVP, Data Experience
Lead the design and delivery of agentic AI systems for the Decisioning practice. This role turns measurement intelligence from Data Science and the Databricks foundation from Data Architecture into automated, client‑facing workflows that scale across Dentsu X, iProspect, and Carat.
You will define multi‑agent system architecture, LLM orchestration strategy, and the product vision for how AI enhances the way media teams and clients interact with marketing data. This includes designing Genie spaces that answer business questions in plain language, agentic workflows that automate reporting and optimization, and AI‑powered tools that make complex data products accessible to non‑technical users. This pillar transforms Decisioning’s capabilities into meaningful client value.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategic vision and technical direction for Dentsu’s agentic AI platform, including LLM orchestration, multi‑agent systems, and intelligent automation.
- Lead a team of seven (1 onshore Senior AI Engineer, 1 offshore Director/Staff AI Engineer, 3 offshore Senior Agentic Engineers, 1 offshore Product Designer, and 1 offshore UI Developer), delivering production‑ready AI products.
- Deliver AI orchestration use cases built on top of Databricks.
- Design and deploy Genie (Conversational AI – Text‑to‑SQL) spaces that enable self‑service data exploration, with a focus on accuracy and minimizing hallucinations.
- Set the LLM strategy across model selection, cost optimization, latency considerations, and vendor evaluation (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open‑source options).
- Build agentic interfaces around measurement models so clients and media teams can interact with MMM, RBA, forecasting, and incrementality through natural language.
- Define the product vision for how AI enhances the client experience—from automated reporting to conversational and exploratory analytics.
- Partner with Data Science on model deployment and interface design for measurement products.
- Partner with Data Architecture on data access, Databricks integration, and platform infrastructure for agent workloads.
- Recruit and develop AI engineers who think in products and iterate quickly.
- Ensure all AI and agentic products meet data security, privacy, and compliance requirements, especially when working with client data.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML with increasing leadership responsibility.
- Deep expertise in LLM applications, agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph), and production AI systems.
- Proven experience shipping AI‑powered products used by non‑technical audiences.
- Experience building and leading engineering teams (5+ direct or indirect reports).
- Strong product sense, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into user value.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred) and modern deployment patterns.
- Strong communication skills for leadership and client‑facing presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate build‑vs‑buy decisions and manage AI vendor relationships.
- Strong experience with GitHub for CI/CD and GitOps best practices.
- Strong experience with agentic development tools (e.g., Laude Code, Cursor AI), including creating skills, agents, commands, and rules that support agentic coding, governance, reviews, and debugging.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in media agencies, adtech, or marketing technology environments.
- Background working with Databricks, including Genie and Unity Catalog.
- Experience designing conversational AI or copilot‑style products.
- Knowledge of media data and analytics workflows.
- Experience managing offshore engineering teams.
- Published thought leadership or conference presentations on applied AI.
