We are seeking highly motivated, self-directed, and experienced in software development for cloud-based applications (AWS, Azure, GPC, etc.) and container-based solutions (Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc) individual to lead design and architecture of the Dispensing Pyxis Software R&D enterprise software.
Reporting to the Director, Software Product Development, this REMOTE position is a Software Engineering (SWE) Associate Director for the MMS, Dispensing business (> $1B revenue) located in San Diego, CA. This position has direct responsibility for all software functions that contribute to the Pyxis enterprise software platform.
The candidate will be responsible for driving Innovation and continuous improvement through the SWE function with the goal of increasing speed to market, quality of software products, and compatibility of portfolio with the rest of the MMS ecosystem. This position requires a strong background in software development and a successful track record of design and implementation of multi-tenant, cloud-based architectures. A background with Class I or Class II FDA software medical devices is desirable, as the Pyxis products span unclassified and classified medical device software platforms.
This role requires that the applicant is able to ensure that existing and proposed software architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives. The candidate will plan the development and evolution of software tools and technologies in alignment with other MMS cloud and server infrastructures, consistent with industry-standard best practices leveraging automation, code standardization, cybersecurity, systems infrastructure, monitoring, and configuration management.
A successful candidate will drive strategic direction to improve customer satisfaction, reduce cost, and expedite delivery of projects.
Professional Skills & Key Competencies
Experience developing Internet of Things (IOT) software deployment paradigms
Experience in software development for cloud-based applications and container-based solutions (Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc)
Cloud management experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
Experience in automating software and deployment environments for CI/CD.
Experience in configuration management tools (AWS CDK, Terraform, Chef, Ansible)
Experience with infrastructure services and design
Experience with regulated environments and healthcare-related topics (FDA medical devices, HIPAA, etc.)
