About the role
Oculus User Research is looking for an intern to join our team and help us work on the latest and greatest Virtual Reality technology. Curiosity must be a passion as well as a willingness to learn and drive yourself forward to get the quality we are looking for. You will help us enhance the user experience and investigate the ‘why’ in order to learn more about our users and how they interact in applications that can take people out of this world. The goal of the User Experience team (UX) is to improve the user experience by incorporating research, insights and content strategy into the product cycle.
As a UX Researcher, you will work closely with product teams throughout the design process to identify opportunities for research, choose the appropriate methods, conduct the research and analyze and present results. Your toolbox should consist of quantitative methods, such as experiments, surveys and A/B testing. Experience with log analysis or statistical analysis is a plus. As a partner to product design teams, you should have strong communication skills, drawing on your experience with design to describe and sometimes mock-up suggestions in research reports.Quantitative UX Research Intern, Reality Labs (Summer 2026) Responsibilities

- Conduct user research on multiple Facebook products and experiences
- Collect and analyze user behavior data through a variety of channels, such as user testing, semi-formal interviews, observation, surveys, A/B testing and log analysis
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Product Management and Engineering to incorporate user-centered research at all stages of the product cycle
- Proactively design studies intended to understand user behavior and attitudes
- Collaborate with Content Strategy to measure the impact of copy change
- Study and analyze the user experience on the site through a wide variety of quantitative methods
- Recommend and run appropriate A/B tests (or other) to measure the impact of site changes
- Effectively communicate results and illustrate suggestions to product teams through clear writing
- In process of obtaining, a PhD in HCI, social computing, Information Science or related social science field
- Experience in conducting UX research, experience conducting applied and/or product related research is a plus
- Clear communicator
- Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working with User Experience teams
- Excellent command of quantitative research methods
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
