Position Summary

This position will report to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all revenue cycle initiatives with a goal of maximizing reimbursement and key performance metrics, in a cost-effective manner that follows Federal, State, and Payer-specific billing guidelines and requirements.

This person will work with the Revenue Cycle leadership, Finance, and the Centers of Excellence leadership to create financial viability and scalability for the organization. This position will champion development of lean processes to ensure best in-class, client focused revenue cycle operations with metric driven performance-based accountability.

This individual will be a key stakeholder to support initial payer set up, ongoing support in relation to integration and revenue. This will include identifying process improvement opportunities and representing the team’s needs and objectives to various Teladoc Health departments.

This role will require expert knowledge of professional claims revenue between multiple payers and providers. This will include all aspects of the revenue cycle including eligibility, benefit plan design / setup, billing, claim adjudication, and reconciliation.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Execute Revenue Cycle vision and strategic initiatives
  • Co-chair Revenue Cycle Claims Steering & Denials Committee
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with other internal and external departments
  • Implement initiatives and system efficiencies to optimize services and operations and develop and implement new programs
  • Implement programs, projects or procedures that may reduce risk, improve efficiency, decrease denials, increase cash collections, reduce accounts receivable, and motivate staff
  • Create actions plans and monitoring dashboards to achieve best in class benchmarks
  • Lead RCM teams to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met
  • Identify and resolve barriers in achieving operational excellence
  • Accountable for all transactions processed through patient accounting system
  • Coordinates with information technology in development, evaluation, and maintenance of information systems for electronic billings, remittances, payer reimbursement, payer confirmation of claims, denial management, corporate compliance, collections, and provide performance reporting
  • Work closely with various internal departments, specifically Client Services, Finance and Technical Operations, to maximize revenue and support the retention of clients by mitigating reimbursement issues
  • Monitor overall department performance
  • All other duties as assigned

Skill Requirements/Preferred

  • BPO/Offshore team experience required
  • Revenue Cycle Client Service Support required
  • Experience leading a national remote team preferred
  • Six Sigma or Leaning Process Improvement – Certification will be given preference
  • Proprietary Healthcare Product and Engineering experience a plus
  • Integrated Health system experience a plus
  • Technical Operations and patient accounting system experience
  • Experience leading multiple committees and presenting to C Suite level executives
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred, Master's degree in healthcare or related field a plus
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management in Professional Billing required
  • 5+ years of client support experience preferred

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $185,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU’s, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
