About the Job
Come join our J5 team, and work on a combined adult and pediatric medical surgical unit. Our nurses have been the recipients of many Daisy awards including the Team Daisy Award. We have an established unit practice council and have a dedicated Clinical Nursing Educator. J5 is a 26-bed adult medical/surgical unit combined with a thirteen-bed pediatric unit. The pediatric area specializes in the delivery of comprehensive medical and surgical care of the pediatric patient from neonate to 18 years of age.
The most frequent medical diagnoses for adult medical patients are · COPD · Pneumonia · Uncontrolled diabetes and sequelae · AKI · Sepsis · Cellulitis · Diverticulitis · Abdominal pain • weakness/fall •
The most frequent medical diagnoses for pediatric patients are •asthma• bronchiolitis • • pneumonia • UTI • abdominal pain • dehydration • cellulitis • behavioral • fever •
Pediatrics is affiliated with Boston Children’s Hospital and is supported by Boston Children’s physicians.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
· Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
· Basic Life Support (BLS) required
· Pediatric Life Support (PALS) preferred.
· Pediatric experience preferred
Pay Range:
$36.00 - $79.12This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
