About the role

The Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Case Support and Prevention supports the University’s efforts to ensure a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning and working environment through comprehensive case management and prevention programming. This position serves as a critical member of the Title IX team and assists in the daily operations of the Office of Title IX Compliance. 

 

Case Support 

  • Provides trauma-informed case management services to Complainants and collaborates in designing individual action plans
  • Requests and monitors implementation of supportive measures for students and employees involved in Title IX-related matters
  • Maintains detailed, timely, and accurate case notes and records
  • Provides referrals to appropriate internal and external care and support resources
  • Builds and maintains positive rapport with campus and community partners
  • Facilitates information flow among support services and resources, as appropriate
  • Maintains adherence to policies related to HIPPA, FERPA, confidentiality and privacy
  • Exercises appropriate use of the Maxient case management database

 

Office of Title IX Compliance Support

  • Assists with intake meetings, communications, and outreach to parties involved in Title IX cases
  • Serves as a resource to students, faculty, and staff by providing information on Title IX rights, options, and processes
  • Provides support to the Sexual Assault Response Team (SRT) by delivering case status updates
  • Serves as the secondary point of contact for communications, such as responding to inquiries/issues from any internal or external sources including campus administrators, students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Assists with researching, creating, and updating Title IX resource documents
  • Serves as the acting Title IX Director in their absence

 

Prevention Education and Programming

  • Serves as Chair of the Prevention and Education Committee
  • Develops, facilitates, plans, and coordinates educational programs/activities
  • Facilitates workshops and trainings for students, faculty, staff, and campus departments
  • Mentors Title IX Student Ambassadors
  • Collaborates with campus departments to support prevention and response efforts

 

Research, Assessment, and Best Practices

  • Actively engages with national and regional professional organizations (i.e., ATIXA, NASPA, ASCA) to stay abreast of Title IX compliance trends, prevention strategies, and policy updates
  • Assesses prevention and education programs related to sexual misconduct, healthy relationships, and gender equity
  • Recommends and implements evidence-based practices
  • Reviews data trends to access strengths and weaknesses of the campus community
  • Develops short- and long-term goals to address any services not currently available at UTC and a plan for implementation
  • Supports compliance audits and assists with maintaining accurate statistical data

 

Campus Collaboration, Reporting, and Other Duties

  • Serves on Student of Concern/CARE Team
  • Represents the Title IX Office in meetings, task forces, and committees, as needed
  • Reports Clery Act crimes to the University's Clery Compliance Coordinator to ensure accuracy in annual crime statistics

  • Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including survivors of trauma
  • Ability to oversee and manage a caseload in a manner that ensures prompt, effective, and equitable assistance to survivors of trauma
  • Ability to problem solve and crisis manage
  • Keyboarding proficiency and computer application skills (word processing, spreadsheet, file management, PowerPoint, and Adobe software)
  • Multi-tasking abilities and the ability to meet deadlines while remaining focused and composed
  • Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for
