In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive benefit package which includes FULL MEDICAL INS. PAID BY AHRC...AT NO COST TO YOU! See more information on Benefits below.
The Senior Job Coach has the additional responsibility to orient new staff and participate in pre-employment activities at times. Along with the Job Coach, the Senior Job Coach is the central figure in the success of our workers with disabilities in their jobs. Senior Job Coaches provide training, evaluation and counseling to workers with disabilities in a wide variety of jobs at independent businesses, or through contracts AHRC holds with various entities. The job requires a high degree of scheduling flexibility. It is at times necessary to modify a staff schedule during the week with only minimal notification.
All training and supports are delivered in a custom-made person-centered manner. Training and support includes modeling appropriate work behaviors including social skills, communication skills and enthusiasm for work. Senior Job Coaches act as a liaison with employers, co-workers and other relevant parties to insure a satisfying and successful work experience for our program participants. Hands-on, physical work in the process of job coaching, problem solving, negotiating, and coordination are major tasks for Senior Job Coaches. Senior Job Coaches initially spend 100% of the time with the new worker on the job site and then gradually fade (spending less and less time) as the new worker becomes proficient at the job. During the training period, Senior Job Coaches will do part of the work to make up for the initial lack of productivity.
Senior Job Coaches are assigned a specific caseload but in an effort to be as responsive as possible to both our participants and employer, they may have to cover each other’s sites and provide services to consumers on other’s caseloads, this can include covering other boroughs.
