- Position: LEAD Physician Assistant – Cardiovascular Surgery
- Location: Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview, IL
- Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/week)
- Hours: Monday through Friday between 6:00AM – 6:00PM. Rotating weekends, holidays, and call required.
- Required Travel: Emergency coverage at all NorthShore Hospitals as needed.

Job Description
Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute – Cardiovascular Surgery Team! Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Maintains clinical responsibilities and provide appropriate care to patients as part of the heath care team. Leads, facilitates, coaches, and mentors APP staff for professional development and growth. Assures compliance with financial goals through ensuring adequate staffing, development of budgets, routine monitoring of results and analysis of variances. Collaborates with the manager to support patient care, and develop strategic operational plans. Supervises and leads professional APP practice and patient care to ensure care is delivered in a safe and competent manner. Ongoing development/participation in events such as workshops, in-service programs, and departmental meetings. Accountable for the delivery of high-quality patient care within the critical care units/departments. Assures the establishment and utilization of standards for patient care that are consistent with national and/or specialty standards. Within the shared decision-making model of practice, creates an environment where professional APP's are accountable and responsible for practice by utilizing research, evidence based and/or best practices to guide the APP staff in making decisions related to patient care. Acts as the clinical expert for the APP team they lead. Coordinates and provides performance reviews, in collaboration with collaborating MD & manager. Works with APP staff in ensuring appropriate/reliable data collection. Oversees data reports including but not limited to Productivity, billing. Coordinates the APP schedule including student APP’s. Participates in recruitment/retention activities. Coordinates/validates APP billing activities. Provide administrative coverage for the team in the APP Managers absence. Assists in time keeping/payroll tasks. Maintains membership in at least one Professional organization. Manages human resources functions in order to ensure that Endeavor Health policy and procedures are consistently followed amongst all staff. Collaborates with manager re: APP retention and turnover data, developing appropriate action plans when needed. Knowledge & demonstration of Endeavor Health Service Values and customer service standards and ensuring APP colleagues uphold the same. Knowledge of the federal, state and local laws that apply to job's area of responsibility. Knowledge of Endeavor Health policies and procedures that apply to job and area of responsibility. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- License: Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
- Education: Completion of Master’s level program in specialty area required.
- Certification: BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications required
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of PA experience

- Ability to work effectively and productively as a member of a team of diverse individuals, including physicians, administrators, superiors and subordinates. Must consistently demonstrate professionalism, flexibility and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to develop and manage practice budgets, and ability to develop financial proformas to evaluate practice business decisions.
