Position Summary

Serves as first point of contact for faculty and staff regarding our employee benefits programs. Addresses phone/email inquiries and process transactions. Reporting, life events and payroll adjustments in support of the university’s benefits programs. May participate on HR/Benefits project teams.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs the following activities with regards to servicing the university’s benefit plans.

  • Provides benefits support by responding to inquiries via email and/or phone regarding benefits questions.

  • Utilizes various resources to ensure that a complete and accurate answer is provided. Directs internal customers to additional resources, including documented information, reference materials and self-service tools.

  • Maintains accurate data in HR/payroll System(s) and Benefits system(s).

  • Maintains an understanding of benefit programs and policies.

  • Presents benefits information to new employees during orientations.

  • Develops strong relationships and collaborates with other teams such as payroll, benefits strategy, HR managers, labor relations, leave team.

  • Understanding of university structure and related policies.

  • Occasional project work.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$23.37 - $36.19 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
