Lead Supply Chain Optimization Consultant (Remote)
The ODP CorporationAbout the role
The Senior Supply Chain Optimization Consultant will play a key role in Annual Operating Plan (AOP) strategic initiatives, such as SKU replenishment strategies, Ship-from-Store, and alternative sourcing. This will be achieved through the development of inventory flowpath models, analyzing the movement of products from vendors to customers (contract, e-commerce, and retail) and pricing support of new Veyer customers.
These models will be developed using SQL databases, supply chain optimization tools, and Excel to drive data-driven decision-making. The recommendations will focus on optimizing inventory costs, transportation expenses, and labor efficiency across distribution centers (DCs), cross-docks, and stores.
Strong candidates will possess the following qualifications & skills:
- Strong business acumen and supply chain optimization expertise.
- In-depth DC operations knowledge and understanding of inventory flow.
- Advanced coding experience (SQL, VBA, scripting, etc.) and data management skills.
- Strong mathematical modeling and analytical capabilities to develop executable recommendations.
- Ability to communicate complex findings effectively to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business knowledge, and strategic thinking to drive operational efficiencies and cost savings across the supply chain network.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, business knowledge, and strategic thinking to drive operational efficiencies and cost savings across the supply chain network.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop sourcing models to determine the optimal sourcing strategy—whether from alternate DCs using a carrier, Wholesale, or Virtual Warehouse vendors—to maximize profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction. This will be executed using various supply chain tools.
- Simulate the replenishment process, considering labor costs, picking costs, transportation costs, inventory levels, etc., to determine when inventory should be pushed vs. pulled at different locations. This will be executed using tools such as Shipium simulation tools and other available resources.
- Support supply chain pricing activities by developing models, tools, and recommendations to optimize pricing strategies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in inventory and transportation modeling, analyzing their impact on total network expenses. Develop, troubleshoot, execute, and report on models and simulations that drive inventory and transportation optimizations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand supply chain business processes, gathering critical data for network modeling aimed at optimizing the distribution network for an ideal balance between cost and service.
- Document end-to-end supply chain processes for Veyer’s third-party customers, identifying optimal data sources for model generation and analytical requests. Participate in discussions on operational impacts, providing analytical evidence to influence supply chain leadership. Drive functional cost and efficiency improvements.
- Act as a trusted resource by providing education, empowerment, and training to enhance the capabilities of Veyer’s Supply Chain Support team.
Education and Experience:
