Job Description

As Manager, FTTP OLT Implementations, you will coordinate with local managers and vendors to schedule and complete XGSPON OLT and ASM installations to support Brightspeed’ s FTTP build.  This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience with central office equipment design, installation, turnup and test.  The position will be responsible for creating and maintaining schedules to implement Brightspeed’ s OLT deployment to support the FTTP build plan across 20 states utilizing vendors and leveraging local Brightspeed resources.  The incumbent will provide guidance and direction to vendors and resident Brightspeed teams to certify job completion, quality workmanship, review, and approval of vendor invoices. 

In addition to these responsibilities, the FTTP OLT Manager will partner with regional FTTP ODN/OSP planners, engineers, and managers to coordinate planning and implementation schedules and revise plans as needed to meet Brightspeed corporate objectives for homes passed and open for sale.   The role will also include coordination of related projects such as transport augmentations to ensure we meet business goals.

As the Manager, FTTP OLT Implementations, you responsibilities will include:

 

  • This position has potential for direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities of a management team of 10-15 management employees
  • Position will be responsible for vendor management of infrastructure services providers used in the network build and maintenance.  
  • Scheduling of central office OLT and IOF equipment engineered to support Brightspeed’ s FTTP network transformation strategy. 
  • Decision making strategy and effective engagement of construction vendors and local Brightspeed engineers and managers.
  • RFQ and vendor selection of infrastructure services vendors / business partners as required.  
  • Management of all infrastructure services vendors including workload management, on-time job completion, and quality of work performed via field work inspection.
  • Vendor payment management for all infrastructure services contractors.
  • Develop and reporting of key (automated) performance metrics to track strategic milestones.

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience managing central office network fiber engineering and construction processes. 
  • Prior experience with large, multi-state fiber network builds.
  • Prior experience managing national and regional infrastructure services vendors. 
  • Leading and executing multiple, simultaneous business transformation and process changes.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership and matrix-management collaboration skills.
  • Strong program and project management skills.
  • Innovative, strategic thinker and decision maker.
  • Strong problem solving and execution skills in driving transformation and change.
  • Proficient with central office XGSPON and fiber network technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work in central office and outside plant conditions
