The School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UW Bothell) seeks two dynamic educators in Statistics and/or Approaches to Social Science Research Methods for Lecturer Full-Time Temporary positions. The desired candidates for this position will have expertise in teaching Statistics and Social Science research methods in an interdisciplinary context to students with varying degrees of expertise (other courses may be possible, see below). Successful candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to innovative and effective pedagogy; demonstrated experience in curriculum design that reflects historical and cultural relationships between power, knowledge, and difference; and demonstrated experience–or evidence of potential for–supporting and engaging diverse student populations. The candidates will be responsible for teaching an eight course load over three quarters, including BIS 215 Understanding Statistics and/or BIS 312 Approaches to Social Research, as well as additional courses in subject areas (see below).
We are seeking two candidates to join our faculty on a Full Time Temporary (100%) basis for a 9-month service period. Positions in this title are non-tenure track and not promotion eligible. Reappointments are contingent upon instructional needs, performance and funding, and limited to 3 consecutive annual appointments. The start date is September 16, 2025.
