Job Description:

The Associate Vice -President, Corporate Development will play a key role in shaping and executing the company’s growth strategy through mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments. This individual will work closely with senior leadership, finance, strategy, legal, and external advisors to evaluate opportunities, lead transaction execution, and support post-transaction integration efforts.

This role requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Associate Vice Presidents (AVP) at TD Bank Financial Group are strategic, responsible and accountable members of the Bank’s leadership team. POSITION SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Developing strategic ideas and initiatives, monitoring industry developments, target identification

  • Conducting comprehensive assessment, analysis and valuation, including summarizing findings and identifying key risks and opportunities

  • Building financial models to help evaluate transaction opportunities

  • Leading project management for due diligence, including drafting the due diligence framework, managing data request lists and data room access, and compiling due diligence results

  • Conducting in depth due diligence coordination and presentation by working with multiple stakeholders including Finance and Capital departments to develop deal structuring options

  • Overseeing the development of comprehensive presentations summarizing a given transaction and its strategic and financial impacts for Senior Executive and the Board, as may be applicable

  • Working with internal partners including Investor Relations on external presentations

  • Working  with the TD Legal team and/ or external advisors to support deal development

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field required

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred

  • 7–10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategy consulting

  • Demonstrated experience executing M&A transactions

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills

  • Strong communication and project management skills
