Supervisor- Pharmacy Technician

Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to join our Pharmacy team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. 

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager, the technician supervisor will manage the daily operations of a single designated pharmacy, including: staffing, employee development, process efficiency, information technology, customer service, inventory, and compliance. 

Responsible for the direct supervision of approximately 15-30 pharmacy technicians and clerk staff. 

Performs ongoing coaching, teaching, and monitoring of the pharmacy technicians and clerks, as well as conducting annual performance evaluations for each technician and clerk at the site.

The technician supervisor will work in partnership with the pharmacy leadership team.  Knowledge and experience of inpatient pharmacy is required, and experience in sterile compounding is preferred.  The technician supervisor will support the management of USP compliance, hiring and recruitment of technicians, management of technician education and certification, daily operations, timecard approval, and have responsibility for direct reports including performance management.

Required Qualifications:

• Requires five or more years of Pharmacy Technician experience. 
• Registration with the MN Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
• National certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle violation criteria.
• This position requires familiarity and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations (including, but not limited to DEA, Board of Pharmacy and JCAHO).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership or supervisor experience is preferred. 
• Postgraduate or additional training preferred.
