Job Description:

   

The HPE Quantum team at HPE Labs is developing new approaches for quantum computing, including integration with high performance computing. We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Technical Product and Program Manager to lead the strategy and delivery of vendor-agnostic integrated solutions at the intersection of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Quantum Computing (QC). This role requires a unique blend of product leadership, technical systems expertise, and business development and business acumen.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of both traditional and emerging compute paradigms and is passionate about delivering fit-for-purpose solutions tailored to the unique mission requirements of our diverse customer base. You will ensure that customers are not locked into proprietary stacks but are instead empowered with flexible, interoperable, and best-fit architectures.

Role and Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Development

  • Define and own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for integrated, vendor-neutral HPC and quantum solutions.

  • Prioritize customer mission requirements over vendor lock-in, promoting open standards, modular architectures, and interoperability.

  • Collaborate with engineering, research, and solution architecture teams to translate customer needs into scalable, secure, and mission-aligned products.

Business Development & Market Engagement

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across government, research, defense, commercial sectors, and academic institutes

  • Support strategic accounts and partnerships by articulating the value of vendor-agnostic integrated compute environments.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them through capability assessments, proof-of-concepts, and long-term planning.

System Design & Integration

  • Lead the system design of end-to-end computing solutions that combine classical HPC with quantum or hybrid workloads.

  • Evaluate and recommend open-source and commercial tools, frameworks, and hardware across multiple vendors.

  • Ensure all solutions are adaptable to existing enterprise ecosystems and evolving technology standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across product, sales, R&D, delivery and support to ensure product/solution alignment with mission needs.

  • Lead customer discovery, requirements gathering, and solution validation efforts.

  • Support go-to-market activities with technical collateral, messaging, and training.

  • Identifying government funded programs and opportunities; assembling and coordinating a cross-organizational team to respond; assisting principal investigators with drafting and submitting proposals.

  • Managing program budgets and ensuring alignment and timely completion of a program or project milestones or deliveries.

Market & Technology Intelligence

  • Stay abreast of developments in the HPC and quantum landscape, including emerging technologies, standards, and vendor capabilities.

  • Analyze competitor offerings to ensure our solutions remain differentiated, flexible, and mission-first.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics with a strong preference for quantum computing, computational  science, or ML/AI  expertise.
