The Team:
Our team is responsible for the End-of-Day calculation platform that processes large volumes of data to calculate over 800,000 index values and generate thousands of reports daily. What sets us apart is our focus on performance, accuracy, and scalability in a high-stakes environment. We value innovation, accountability, and collaboration, and this role will play a key part in launching new asset classes with novel calculation methods, owning the design, development, and delivery of high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Lead the design and development of Java/J2EE applications for SPDJI systems and websites.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members across development, testing, and deployment activities.
Develop web applications with rich front-end interfaces and integrate with internal/vendor platforms.
Conduct system performance tuning and troubleshoot application issues.
Interface with databases using advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
Participate in code reviews, version control, and enforce best development practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, product owners, and IT stakeholders.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,862 to $180,100. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience in Java development with strong skills in J2EE, JMS, EJB.
Proven experience leading software development teams or technical projects.
Proficient in advanced SQL and PL/SQL.
Experience with Unix scripting, vulnerability remediation, and application performance tuning.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Advanced Python or Scala
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Fortify, DevOps pipelines)
Microservices and Big Data (Spark, Hadoop/HDFS)
AWS services (EC2, EMR, Lambda, S3, Glue)
QA automation (Cucumber, Selenium, Karate)
Financial data systems: Equity, Commodities, Forex, Futures, and Options.
