What You Will Do

The Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) Advanced Materials Group is seeking an Advanced Materials Staff Technician to assist in special technologies materials development with a focus on high temperature exhaust system coatings for state-of-the-art jet engine applications.

  • The preferred candidate will work closely with engineering customers to execute test programs from initial proof of concept thru production implementation. 

  • The candidate must possess an affinity for working with and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, with associated responsibilities spanning setup / operation of standard thermal and paint spray equipment, specimen fabrication and machining, mechanical testing, chemical processing, basic programming, and detailed documentation of experimental data.

  • Key functions also include generation of innovative process / equipment solutions to meet critical program needs, and effective daily planning to achieve milestones as agreed upon with the engineering customer. 

  • The preferred candidate will possess exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, and will work as part of a cohesive and dedicated team of engineers and technicians responsible for the development of the referenced materials.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)

  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a technician.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • AA/AS Degree

  • Experience with running process related equipment

  • Experience with specimen fabrication and machining

  • Experience with mechanical testing equipment and procedures

  • Established security clearances (strongly preferred)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
