About the role
Global Plus & IBM AIX P series system administrator with SAN knowledge and good Perl/Ansible/Python/C/Fortan/PL1/C++/ SQL/Java/JavaScript/Shell scripting skills to build, support and maintain high compute, high availability, disaster recoverable environments. Someone who is dependable, responsible, take-charge, self-starter and an experienced team player.
About the team
Global Plus & AIX Administration team supports all the ASP Hosting services for Global Plus Products along with the infrastructure, backup services, data replications, data center migrations, network, MQ series, monitoring, automation and other applications.
What you will be doing
Provide 2nd tier/3rd tier support on hosted Global Plus applications which includes debugging issues with GP, messaging, GDS and other GP components.
Work in the 2nd shift 3:00 pm ET – 12:00 pm ET and keep an eye on the night streams, jobs monitoring and work with DCS Tech to avoid jobs running late.
Help redesign, debug batch jobs to make them faster and efficient, including GDS extracts and BOD and EOD jobs.
Lead the weekly performance review of AIX systems along with existing AIX admin experts. Monitors system usage and performance.
Writing and maintaining existing automation scripts using programing shell, Perl, PHP, Python and Ansible.
Proposes and implements system enhancements that will improve reliability and performance of system.
Perform problem determination and remediation skills, troubleshoot server, software and hardware issues.
Researches, evaluates, and recommends software and hardware products.
What you bring
Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware.
Knowledge of Global Plus and its sub products.
Experience with storage management, TCP/IP, network monitoring and tools.
A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or the equivalent experience.
Added bonus if you have
Global Plus development knowledge and IBM AIX certifications a plus.
