Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, as a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for all the Maintenance personnel and activities. Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the repair of plant machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervise and coordinate the employees and activities of the plant maintenance function as directed.

  • Arrange for maintenance of adequate level of supplies, materials, and parts so that there will be no interruption in operations due to shortages.

  • Provide and maintain required environmental reporting to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.

  • Resolve technical problems encountered related to area of responsibility.

  • Provide and plan technical training and establishes individual development plans.

  • Arrange for all equipment in area to be properly maintained and upgraded as needed by establishing equipment matrix for each piece of equipment. Maintain equipment list for future capital and overhaul requirements.

  • Provide daily logs including daily scheduled and nonscheduled worksheets and equipment PMs.  Plan and execute electrical PM work using the EAM system. 

  • May assist employees troubleshoot, adjust, and repair all electrical equipment, solid state circuits, components, logic boards, transducers, amplifiers, and complex timing and inspection devices.

  • May oversee preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.

  • Identify inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates with subordinates and contractors to resolve.

  • Receive instructions, prints, and work orders.  Makes drawings or sketches of parts to be made or repaired.

  • Interpret drawings, calculates, and determines indices, tapers, and other dimensions to be used for parts.

  • Coordinate all projects relating to machining, die maintenance, machine repair, and overhauls.

  • Ensure the safety of all employees; lead a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries. Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.).

  • Develop subordinates through education, training, and teamwork.

  • Meet or exceed plant productivity, cost, or other performance metric expectations as outlined by plant manager.

  • Hire, train, direct and mentor staff and all plant employees with diverse language, cultural and educational background.

  • Lead maintenance department in SPS activities.

  • Coordinate maintenance scheduling to meet production demands, to manage overtime, and to reduce costs.

  • Ensure employees complete required quality and safety checks and audits.

  • Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance program is implemented and maintained.

  • Coordinate plant equipment maintenance and repair.

  • Responsible for the overall maintenance of buildings and grounds.

  • Initiate, review, master, and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.

  • Develop positive working relationships with others in the organization to influence total safety philosophy in the company’s on-going operations.

  • Providing necessary preventative maintenance and equipment reliability resources to maximize output while controlling costs.

  • Safety, productivity, and quality issues.

  • Employee hiring, training and development.

  • Replacing skilled labor that are expected to retire over the next few years.

  • Driving productivity improvements around output & scrap while reducing recurring defects.

  • Schedules, assigns, supervises maintenance work.

  • Assures all maintenance work is completed safely.

  • Provides for all preventive maintenance.

  • Reads blueprints and prepares drawings.

  • Supervises any cons
