AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Resources Engineer Intern – Summer 2026 to join our San Diego, CA office.

Our Internship Program is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the compilation of hydrologic/hydraulic data and the preparation of reports.
• Participate in site visits and document the visit through notes and photographs.
• Assist with computer aided drafting and design (CADD) plans.
• Assist with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis and reporting.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software. Be able to prepare charts and graphics to neatly present and convey key data.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE:
  • College level courses in math, technical drafting, computer assisted drafting and/or science may be required. No experience is generally required with the applicable college courses or equivalent training, or if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field
• EDUCATION
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a relevant engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026).
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or ArcGIS (preferred)

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
