Purpose

 This position will be supporting the Cockrell School of Engineering, Research Relations team by facilitating catering/vendor coordination and being the point of contact, initiating requests for AV support, set-up and breakdown of events, and various event logistics, including collecting and routing appropriate paperwork. Ensure event success and provide feedback to the Research Relations team.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with Research Relations staff, managing timeline up-to-event (room reservations, communication with internal and external stakeholders, creating and routing invoices, OOEFs, and other additional paperwork).

  • And helping to track and organize various engagements with corporate partners that the Research Relations team manages.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED, and five years of administrative/clerical experience. Excellent communication skills. Detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at UT or other institutions. Administrative and event skills for a complex unit requiring the use of initiative and judgment. Collects and compiles information accurately. Determine work priorities and schedules. Coordinates the exchange of information with others.

Hourly Rate

$20.00 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 19

  • Standard working hours are 8 am to 5 pm, but we are flexible with the setting of the actual work hours. Some meetings will take place as early as 7:30 and others will end as late as 8 pm.
