ADM Carbohydrate Solutions Division – Ethanol
Full time, Exempt position
 
The successful colleague will be responsible for providing world class administrative and support functions for Vantage Corn Processors (Wholly owned subsidiary of ADM) Ethanol division. It is important that this candidate have a special attention to detail, develop positive relationships with all functions within the department. Position Summary & Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing vessel logistics and communicating concise guidance of contracts. The role serves as a liaison between the vessel owner and cargo receivers and handles all aspects of the ocean freight business. Strong leadership, support and detail-oriented actions needed that will optimize profitability for sales execution.

  • Supervise progress of vessels prior to loading until discharge. Coordinate vessel export shipments, serving as a liaison between customers, surveyors, freight forwarder, and vessel owners.
  • Obtain strong working knowledge of trading rules for each product and use that knowledge efficiently
  • Knowledge of International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) requirements
  • Ability to execute Proof of Sustainability (PoS) transfers and communicate contract commitments to stakeholders.
  • Create excellent relationships with customers, brokers, traders and be responsive to their needs
  • Verify vessel shipment documents to be sure they are in compliance with export shipment rules and regulations, and in addition all U.S. regulatory policies, and corporate compliance policies
  • Prepare document presentation to banks and/or customers directly
  • Voyage optimization and performance monitoring
  • Supervision of Accounts Receivable for customer payments
  • Update inventories from various storage facilities.  Track railcar and barge shipments from ADM’s plants to U.S. export locations and tie out with storage facilities’ inventory.
  • Proven track record of implementing and creating SOP for operational efficiencies
  • Responsible for handling and settling of complex disputes and claims
  • Responsible for coordinating complex stow plans with chartering, trade and vessel command
  • Ability to negotiate vendor contracts and discount (Process invoices from surveyors, storage facilities, freight forwarders.)

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to be utilized daily, mainly with foreign customers
  • Excellent organization skills are a must. 
  • Ability to solve complex problems by “thinking outside the box”
  • High regard for accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Limited night and weekend availability to handle any issues that may arise
  • Ability to collaborate well in a team environment.  Must be committed to group goals and objectives and continually seek to improve
  • Must be able to receive direction from others and work independently while managing priorities
  • Ability to adapt and perform consistently in a fast paced environment.  Must be able to prioritize and complete a workload that changes often with interruptive phone calls requiring immediate action
  • A friendly and positive disposition
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required
  • Would prefer candidate with strong working knowledge of ADM’s IBM system, to include but not be limited to: OPGO, APGO A0GO, FCGO, PCGO
  • Would prefer candidate with strong working knowledge of Document Direct
  • Would prefer candidate with strong accounting background, but not required
  • Ability to learn web based and other computer applications as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree or previous Customer Service or Scheduling/Logistics experience is preferred
Physical requirements include: sitting for prolonged periods of time, operating a keyboard, standing, and filing, bending, kneeling and effectively working on the telephone.
