Position purpose:

Plan, manage and promote events designed to engage graduates, raise community awareness with strategic partners and the university community, support recruitment, fundraising and research activities.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Event planning: Plan and conceptualize, for the entire faculty or department and off-campus events designed to mobilize graduates, raise community alumni, raise community awareness, build relationships with strategic partners and the community, support recruitment and fundraising efforts, and support research and research activities. To this end, lead discussions with customers, identify needs and deadlines, establish the budget, plan and coordinate all stages of event event implementation. 
Event management: Manage and organize all event logistics, such as reservations, rentals, registrations and invitations, catering, equipment set-up and space planning. Supervise the running of events while being available to resolve any problems that may arise. Welcome guests and act as host and representative of the University during each event. 
Supervision of others: Hire, train, coordinate and supervise the work of support support staff required for the execution of events, such as volunteers and volunteers and caterers, and ensure that their tasks are carried out according to the standards and guidelines. 

Budget management: Manage budgets related to the organization and running of events, while events, while ensuring compliance with budget limits, policies, regulations and and procedures.
Promotion: Participate in the planning and development of promotional plans required to deliver events in order to maximize awareness and participation. 
Quality assurance: Develop performance indicators and monitor performance through consultations and surveys to maximize the effectiveness of events. Analyze results and make improvements to optimize event protocols. Prepare post-event reports and post-event evaluations to ensure that each event has achieved its objectives. 
Communication and liaison: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external suppliers and partners to ensure the smooth running of the operations under his/her responsibility.

What you will bring:

  • College diploma in marketing, event management, fundraising or communications, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least five (5) years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate creative ideas and to analyze, evaluate and negotiate details to ensure the success
