Our employees lead the charge in providing exceptional care and form close bonds with each and every patient that walks through our doors. We are looking for a Pharmacy Tech to help staff our team. 7am to-3pm or 8am to 4pm. Monday through Friday.  No weekends, holidays, or on-call. 


Job Duties Include:

  • Takes care of any patient needs promptly and willingly.
  • Prepares chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy medications by compounding or admixing.
  • Verifies patient information, physician authorization and medication orders with medical assistants and nurses
  • Calculates dosage volumes, converts between metric and apothecary equivalents.
  • Thoroughly understands department automation, data entry and report generation, including preparation of patient medication labels using the electronic medical record software.
  • Properly disposes of all materials when mixing chemotherapy or non-chemotherapy medications.
  • Performs accurate record keeping and inventory control.
  • Utilizes pharmacy software to determine what items to order and their quantity
  • Researches and corrects any inventory discrepancies.
  • Participates in the process of expiration date monitoring, and subsequent product transfers.
  • Stocks and shelves all medications received. 
  • Participates in monthly inventories per policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician or State Pharmacy Board registration preferred.
  • Experience in an oncology pharmacy with I.V. preparation and/or chemotherapy mixing is preferred.  
  • Completion of an accredited program or community college based program recommended. 
  • Excellent mathematical skills, including understanding of the metric system needed.
