New overhead lines, underground cables, substations, battery storage and subsea links are all needed – and quickly. AECOM Transmission and Distribution is currently supporting the network development which will underpin grid modernisation. Our experts are involved at all stages of grid modernisation – and so can you be if you join us.</p><p>Our T&amp;D team across the UK &amp; Ireland collaborate primarily based in Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Newcastle, with additional team members working across our other offices including Belfast and Dublin.</p><h3>Job Description</h3><p><strong>Role Summary</strong></p><p>AECOM is seeking a Senior Offshore Electrical HVAC/HVDC Cable Engineer to join our Cable team in the UK and Ireland Transmission and Distribution practice.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Location</strong></p><p>You can be based in any of our locations in the UK and Ireland which includes Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, and St Albans. </p><p>We will consider hybrid working arrangements.</p><p> </p><p><strong>What your role could entail:</strong></p><p>The primary objective of this role is to assist the team in the development and delivery of cable systems activities.</p><p>You’ll be expected to provide technical expertise into bids and proposals and to represent the company in client meetings as appropriate.</p><p>Typical cable systems design activities (related to T&amp;D projects) include:</p><ul><li>HVDC/HVAC cable calculations including develop cable burial route risk assessments, landfall, and cable protection systems for offshore, subsea applications.</li><li>Gathering and correlating engineering data using established and well-defined procedures, and generating detailed cable reports.</li><li>Developing detailed offshore routine engineering assignments involving HVAC/HVDC, IAC and export cable design, for both static and dynamic systems.</li><li>Proposing approaches to solve problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.</li><li>Reviewing and optimising design, routing, installation, commissioning and de-commissioning solutions.</li></ul><p>For the following types of projects:</p><ul><li>HVDC Interconnectors</li><li>HVAC Interconnectors</li><li>HVAC and HVDC Offshore Windfarm projects</li></ul><p>Your role will require you to:</p><ul><li>Perform work in accordance with the agreed budget and schedule with little supervision.</li><li>Independently perform the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works to standard and compliant regulations.</li><li>Coordinate across project disciplines, external subcontractors and remote offices such that technical risks are identified and mitigated, and all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Here’s what we will need from you:</strong></p><ul><li>Typically around 5+ years of relevant experience. </li><li>An electrical/electronic/power engineering or similar qualification, such as an HNC, HND, BSc/BEng and/or an MSc/MEng.</li><li>Professionally qualified in Electrical Engineering (CEng or working towards chartership).</li><li>This role requires the ability to implement
