Job Description:

Food Service Associate VI

To interact with patients and patient care staff to deliver high quality food & service for patients and guests at Bay Area Hospital.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Proficiently operates Palm Pilot, calculator, computer, telephone, printer, copy machine, and fax machine
• Understands different types and degrees of diet therapy
• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

• Able to read, write legibly, and converse in the English language
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Must have or be able to obtain an Oregon Food Handler or Food Manager Certification or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Oregon State Drivers license preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Dietary Management Class certification or one (1) year experience working with diet therapy.
• Computer / keyboard/typing experience
• Previous participation in nutrition classes/education

• Needs the ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone
• Requires significant use of computer, phone and general office equipment
