Job Description
Reports to: VP of Business Applications
A quick snapshot…
As a Principal Business Applications Architect, you’ll lead the strategic initiatives across multiple IT teams, defining the architectural guidelines and integration patterns. You’ll play a key role in evaluating new applications and reviewing the architecture and design of ongoing and new projects.
Why it’s a big deal…
This is a critical role at Conga – you’ll be working to ensure that the right architectural model and guidelines are defined and accepted as best practices. As Conga continues to grow, it is essential for the right systems and architecture is in place for our continued success.
Are you the person we’re looking for?
Related experience. You’ve established your experience in IT for the last 15 or more years, with a focus on application architecture for at least 5 years, operating within a typical architecture framework like BOST or TOGAF. You’ve architected solutions across Salesforce (Sales and Service Cloud), ERP applications (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), and eCommerce Platforms. You’ve created business process and integration architecture from scratch with multiple systems. Let’s face it, experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQ/CLM, and HRIS are a must-have.
Forward thinker. You’re constantly researching emerging technologies to understand how it could be used to make improvements for the business. You’re consistently looking for ways to innovate with a drive to support the business and customers.
Resourceful and organized. In a dynamic environment, you can manage multiple priorities and responsibilities. You’ve developed a system that allows you to stay organized and pay attention to the details while adapting to the ever-changing tasks that come your way. When things change, you don’t lose sight of the details.
Confident and deliberate communicator. You have a point of view and you’re completely comfortable defending it to any person or group, regardless of level or status. It’s a confidence that comes from experience. And that’s not to say you aren’t open to different views; but, when you feel strongly about a particular matter, you don’t give up easily. You’re at ease with lively debate, in fact, you welcome it. Your points are clear and concise. And you’re equally as respected for your knowledge and expertise as for your style and approach.
Here’s what will give you an edge…
Passion. We know it when we see it. Passion is not about saying how much you love what you do in your most excited voice. Passion is revealed in your truest self. It’s about what you’ve accomplished; how you want to grow; the ideas you have; your philosophies. It’s demonstrating through your words and your actions that you truly believe in what you do -- and where you work. That it matters to you. And that’s pretty cool.
Initiative. You don’t wait around for things to happen or for your manager to tell you what to do. You’re not only proactive about completing your own work, but when you sense the need to introduce a project that will benefit the team or the organization -- even if it’s outside your scope of work -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it. And that also goes back to having an entrepreneurial spirt.
Certifications. You’ve continued your learning through certifications in Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, and/or architecture framework (BOST/TOGAF).
