Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview):Spry Methods is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support the US Department of Agriculture, Integrated Acquisition System (IAS) in Washington, DC. IAS is designed to provide a modern, integrated e-procurement system to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) acquisition community. It is the primary procurement tool used by USDA and the only system that documents the full spending cycle chain by referencing, enabling, and monitoring throughout the procurement lifecycle. It provides key acquisition functionality, a real time interface to the USDA financial system of record, and extended functionality to enable enhanced procurement and planning tools.
The candidate will be an integral member of the test team and responsibilities will be split between two quality objectives:- 30% of the time: program-wide quality control and process improvement - 70% of the time: software quality assurance

What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):
- Quality Control/Process Improvement
- Conduct assessments of projects across our program (small to medium complexity) within the organization to ensure compliancy to contract standards, and processes.
- Identify process and procedural issues based upon internal audit findings and initiate resolution to these problems.
- Communicate with internal audit peers and management regarding status, audit issues and deadlines.
- Collect objective evidence of quality related data and/or trends. Monitor and track quality action items and/or track quality issues through resolution.
- Participate in internal audit processes for compliancy and uniformity to ensure deliverables to the customer are consistent.
- Make sure that quality assurance standards are adequately implemented through internal audits as well as the software testing life cycle.
- Software Quality Assurance
- Assist with the development of test case documents by providing feasibility and high- level business requirements analysis and developing QA estimates.
- Review and analyze implementation plan for software releases, infrastructure upgrades and enhancement capabilities.
- Review SDLC deliverables and provide comments/ recommendations as appropriate.
- Update of program/project document repository.
- Update of program/project intranet/internet sites.
What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Requirements):
- 3+ years of experience in software quality.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality and process improvement position.
- Experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Defect Management and Resolution processes.
- Good knowledge of the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes applied to Web based systems and web services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly articulate customer technical needs into technical specifications.
- Ability to work well independently as well as follow detailed instructions for completing tasks.
- Self-starter that takes ownership and an inventive problem solver with a high level of personal and team accountability.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Diligent and meticulous.
- Good understanding of software application development and defect lifecycle.
- Experience in writing requirements and ensuring traceability throughout a project.
- Experience in generating process documentation and reports.
- Experience with testing web-based applications.
- Experience with the testing-defect management-retesting cycle.
- Support a culture of continuous process improvement.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Including MS Teams, MS SharePoint.
Ideally, You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
- Strong background in software testing and STLC.
- Experience in implementing third-party vendor solutions.
- Experience with testing database applications.
- Proficiency with SQL and database management.
- Willingness to go extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Experience interacting with stakeholders and federal clients.
