UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring a Clinical Psychologist to join our Truman Health Services Clinic. This opportunity is a full-time (1.0FTE) day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This full-time Clinical Psychologist will work as an integral team member with our primary care Patient-Centered Medical Home. The Psychologist provides integrated behavioral health care in a primary care setting, including brief assessment and intervention for a wide variety of patients of all ages and implementing clinical care pathways to improve population health.

Minimum $103,756 - Midpoint $132,228*
*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
Summary:
Under general supervision, provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, individual, group, couples, and family therapy, case management services, referral, and follow-up for patients with acute, chronic, or moderate to severe mental disorders, or with psychological/behavioral factors affecting physical health. Provides consultation to clinical staff, other health professionals, and to outside facilities and/or agencies as needed to facilitate care for patients.
The Psychologist works closely with primary care providers and the team to implement team-based care for a range of mental health, substance use disorders, behavioral medicine, and medical conditions as indicated. We are looking for a motivated and committed person who can flexibly respond to the diverse patient needs encountered in a primary care clinic.
The preferred candidate will have experience with integrated behavioral health in primary care setting and should have experience working with adults and adolescents.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Clinical Psychologist:
Doctorate degree in Psychology, and completion of Pre-doctoral Clinical Internship with at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. State of NM Licensed Psychologist, or eligibility for NM licensure, as documented by out-of-state licensure. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Clinical Psychologist:
- Diagnoses or evaluates mental and psychological disorders of individuals and administers programs of treatment; interviews patients in clinics, hospitals, and other settings and studies medical and social case histories.
- Observes patients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological assessments to diagnose mental disorders and formulate plans of treatment. Provides consultation to other health professionals with regard to assessment results.
- Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, couples, and family therapies.
- Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
- Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
- Provides crisis assessment and intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological support.
- Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, staff meetings and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques.
- May instruct and direct psychology students, interns, and postdoctoral trainees serving practicum, internships, and postdoctoral experiences in hospitals and clinics.
- Provides psychological consultations to other health professionals within hospitals, clinics, and other community based agencies with regard to clients and/or patient care.
- Provides backup coverage to other behavioral health providers as needed.
- May develop and implement clinical research
