Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates day-to-day administrative operations of the AGC PAC
  • Provides administrative support to Senior Director of Political Affairs for all advocacy activities, including those related to AGC PAC and the Construction Advocacy Fund
  • Acts as liaison among the AGC national office, AGC Townhouse, and congressional fundraisers
  • Organizes and executes the planning of congressional jobsite tours for AGC staff, chapters, and members
  • Works with the Public Affairs Team to provide media support for government affairs activities including Member of Congress tours at member sites and during Congressional hearings where AGC members/key staff testify
  • Monitors state and local construction policy trends 

Duties:

Coordinates day-to-day administrative operations of AGC PAC

  • Coordinates the day-to-day operations of AGC PAC which includes overseeing the recording and maintaining of database records of PAC prior authorization forms and contributions
  • Determines appropriate acknowledgement, composes, and processes appropriate letters
  • Serves as liaison to the Finance Department for AGC PAC receipts and disbursements; processes AGC PAC receipts and submits weekly to Finance Department
  • Prepares and processes check requests for AGC PAC disbursements; executes appropriate liaison with member contractors and chapters regarding check delivery; prepares letters of transmittal
  • Coordinates the development and execution of direct mail, electronic, and in-person fundraising initiatives for the AGC PAC
  • Represents AGC at fundraising, political, and townhouse events
  • Distributes weekly email to Department that includes action alert activity, jobsite tour scheduling, congressional fundraisers, and townhouse events
  • Produces and compiles background material for AGC PAC Board of Trustees and national AGC meetings; prepares PAC-related reports as required for AGC officer meetings with chapters
  • Provides staff support for fundraising efforts and PAC contributor recognition programs at AGC national meetings
  • Maintains and tracks lobbyists’ fundraiser attendance in the PAC budget spreadsheet
  • Produces the AGC PAC Advocate newsletter

Provides administrative support to Senior Director of Political Affairs & Government Relations Department 

  • Assists with drafting, editing, uploading and sending grassroots alerts and legislative communications to members and Capitol Hill, respectively
  • Reviews issue papers, legislative testimony and regulatory comments
  • Maintains a record of AGC LD-1/LD-2 reports for lobbyists as well as LD-203 for AGC PAC
  • Maintains all issue “one-pagers” and works with Department to update, as needed
  • Assists with the scheduling of Capitol Hill visits between members of Congress and AGC chapters/members/staff.
  • Maintains the advocacy systems, including the platforms for the AGC PAC, Construction Advocacy Fund, and grassroots efforts
  • Assists with fundraising initiatives for the Construction Advocacy Fund
  • Updates the AGC, Advocacy, and Construction Advocacy Fund websites and assembles the Construction Advocacy in Action newsletter
  • Works with the Public Affairs Team to conduct media outreach and provide media support during Congressional tours of member sites and AGC-involved Congressional testimony

Acts as a liaison among AGC National Office, AGC Capitol Hill Headquarters, and congressional fundraisers

  • Coordinates AGC Townhouse schedule with fundraising firms/personnel and AGC staff
  • Acts as a liaison between AGC PAC and congressional fundraisers. In this role, the Coordinator will: 
  • Act as a point of contact for townhouse usage for events, making recommendations to the Director of Political Affairs and Vice President of Government Relations, who must sign off on Townhouse usage requests
  • Act as a point of contact—as appropriate—for candidates seeking AGC PAC funds or meetings, and making recommendations to the Senior Director of Political Affairs and Vice President for their ultimate approval/disapproval
  • Tracks guest events at AGC Townhouse; processes invoices and payments

Organizes and executes the planning of congressional jobsite tours for AGC staff, chapters, and members

  • Fields all requests for jobsite tours involving members of Congress and communicates activities to chapter staff, congressional offices, and Department
  • Works with Government Relations and Chapter Support Teams to identify states to target for such events
  • Assists chapters in the selection of projects and execution of events, including logistics, topics of discussion, member background, agenda, media, attendees, etc.
  • Assembles briefing memos and drafts press releases for chapters and memb
