Sourcing Specialist - Consumer Goods

Market America, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced consumer goods focused Sourcing Specialist for our Supply Chain Sourcing and Purchasing team.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for identifying sourcing and contract opportunities, provides procurement in cosmetics, personal care and skin care, and assists in contract implementation and supplier and vendor reviews. Product span will include nutraceutical – supplement products space, personal care, cosmetic - skincare areas as well as other related areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively identifies health & nutrition, cosmetics, personal care and skin care-related products and domestic and international ingredient suppliers to provide quality sourcing.
• Develops alternative sources of supply by identifying and researching prospective suppliers.
• Make recommendations to senior management regarding opportunities to improve quality, pricing, or gain efficiencies.
• Negotiates price, delivery, quantity, quality, and terms to obtain best prices and terms.
• Monitors and evaluates supplier performance to effectively meet company standards.
• Advises personnel of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may affect production or delivery.
• Mediates supplier issues to effectively resolve shipping quality discrepancies.
• Arranges and participates in meetings with suppliers to facilitate inspections, substitutions, and standardization.
• Negotiates and settles damage claims, rejections, losses, return of material, over-shipments, cancellation, and engineering changes.
• Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends to prepare reports for management.
• Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to increase efficiencies and customer service and to reduce costs.
• Researches and identifies industry trends to maintain best practices

Qualifications:

•Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field.

•Seven years of experience in oversees vendor relationships, supply chain, purchasing, and negotiations.

•Or combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
