Look no further! LifeScape is seeking a full time Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to join our exceptional team at our Children Service Campus in Sioux Falls, SD.

LifeScape is a regional leader in pediatric therapy and services for children and adults with disabilities.  We are offering a unique opportunity in our Children’s Services facility for you to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve and their families. LifeScape has a fun, child-centered environment that encompasses both inpatient and outpatient services within our specialty hospital, residential halls, Autism & Children Development Center, and our outpatient services facility as well.

Some key job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Nutrition

  • Complete pediatric nutrition assessments including but not limited to: growth assessment, nutrition focused physical assessment, interpreting biochemical indices, estimating nutrient needs and evaluating adequacy of current nutrition regimen (oral, supplemental, enteral and parenteral nutrition support), eating behaviors, feeding challenges and medication interactions/side effects
  • Develop nutrition care plans
  • Communicate recommendations to physicians and collaborate with nursing and the care team to implement and facilitate nutrition care plan
  • Document assessments, care plans and outcomes in the EHR
  • Collaborate with therapy team to evaluate feeding challenges, nutrition adequacy, and support feeding therapies including enteral feeding transitions to oral eating
  • Participate and collaborate in therapy team evaluations, clinics and meetings (i.e, rehab team, GI clinic, feeding evaluations, intensive feeding therapies, intensive tube weaning therapy, constipation clinic, etc.) for both inpatient and outpatient services

Administration

  • Manage nutrition profile, food preferences and therapy needs within meal ticket and menu system
  • Complete documentation and submit billing in a timely manner

Education & Training

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate daily work activities of RDN interns
  • Provide job shadow experiences for RDN students
  • Prepare and lead nutrition education programs for other professionals, families/guardians and provide leadership and support in specific areas of program development as assigned

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Minimum qualifications include obtaining bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and completion of a supervised practice dietetic internship accredited through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), clinical nutrition experience through a coordinated undergraduate program or successful completion of post graduate internship, Licensed Nutritionist status in the state of South Dakota, and registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), or must be registry eligible and obtained within six months of hire. (After January 1, 2024, the ACEND requires anyone taking the registration exam to become a dietitian to have a master’s degree. Prior to January 1, 2024, individuals qualifying to take the registration exam need to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree
